As I said yesterday, there is a real enemy and we fight our battles in prayer. Fasting is an added incentive to push the battle in your favor. You are doing a great job so keep up the good work. Today we are praying and fasting for Protection in Our Homes. If you"re a parent you probably worry about the safety of your children, and if you're single or don't have kids yet you might worry about your spouse or other loved ones. Through this time of prayer allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you and comfort you in times of extreme worry over your house. It is through the Holy Spirit's comfort that we can have peace through these trying times.

To allow the Holy Spirit to do this you have to learn to TRUST! Trust as we see it in the Old Testament comes from the Hebrew word chasah, and it means to hope; to make someone a refuge. You can see in our verse that David is talking about those that take "Refuge" in God. "Trust" is a verb and it occurs in the Old Testament 36 times. David beautifully illustrates the verb in Psalms 57:1, "I look to you for protection", because it pictures David as nestling under God's wings of refuge, in the same way that a defenseless but trusting baby bird hides itself under its parent's feathers. The middle verse of the bible is found in Psalms 118:8, which says, "It is better to take refuge (chasah) in the Lord than to trust in people. I think this is a fitting center piece of the the Bible.

Pray that you begin to trust in God and take refuge in knowing He protects us and our homes. Live your life in ways that honor God and bring glory to His name. God is not passive or unaware of your circumstances. Set your heart to earnestly seek the Lord. Always remember, God is actively present in every moment of your life.
