“When God created human beings, he made them to be like himself. He created them male and female, and he blessed them and called them “human.”” Genesis 5:1-2
“A kingdom divided by civil war will collapse. Similarly, a family splintered by feuding will fall apart.” Mark 3:24-25
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.” Proverbs 31:8-9
The easy answer to “how to change this world” is “Love each other”. The hard answer to “how to change this world” is also, “Love each other”. How can one thing be so easy, but so hard at the same time? The divisiveness in this nation is enough to give you a headache, but also enough to say something needs to be done. When we pick and choose truths from God’s Word that fit our own emotions or agendas, we fail to live in the Grace God freely gives.
Are there people being marginalized and discriminated against in this country? Yes! Are there people that go hungry day by day because they are poor or homeless? Yes! Are there unborn babies that will never get a chance to make the choices we take for granted? Yes! The Bible tells us to speak up for the poor and helpless, so that they too can receive justice. But we can’t strive for justice and forget about the other Truths God gave us. I like what my parents used to tell me, “two wrongs don’t make a right.” It’s true, all it does is make more wrong. And also more for the media to up their ratings.
We were created in God’s image. That means the same love He has for us, we have to give to others. Start in your family first, then let it spread to the world. You might say, “but I don’t even like my family”. Great, that’s a good place to start then! God has put inside you the very tools you need to change the world! It starts and finishes with Love!
