Who is your Iron? Do you have one? Who is sharpening you and who are you sharpening? In a world where many love to do things on their own, a lot of people find out they don't go as far as they can without mentors or friends. Today we need to pray and fast for Kingdom Friendships. The wisdom of Proverbs teaches us that a real friend sticks closer than a brother (18:24), and Jesus teaches us that there is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends (John 15:13). Friendships among believers are important as you grow in your faith. No friendships are perfect, but one with likeminded pursuit can propel you to new heights in your walk with Christ.

Why did Jesus tell us that there is no greater love than to lay down one's live for one's friends? He shows us what it takes to be a true friend. One that loves you with a love that it would sacrifice oneself for another. That's why it's important to find true Kingdom Friendships. As our churches get bigger and bigger and some of us only spend a hour a week there, it may be difficult to find true friendship inside the four walls of our churches. That is why we have to be intentional in our pursuit of friendships. Some of us are introverts and just hate the thought of interacting with someone else. Some of us are extroverts and love that one on one social interaction, but don't take the time to develop that friendship in a meaningful way because we are on to the next person that will talk to us. What ever you may be, it's time to get intentional with your friendships. Step out and meet new people in your church. Join a small group that meets outside of church and see the possibilities of developing friendships with people that are different than you. Volunteer in a ministry of the church and you can develop new friendship with other volunteers. There are many ways you can gain true friendship inside and outside the church.

We need Kingdom Friendships to begin to cultivate and prosper inside our churches, and show the world we love each other with a sacrificial love. The same love that Christ had for us. My saying I have on the home screen of this website says, "Pursuing People The Way God Pursues People, With A Love That Is Divine." It's the Divine Love He gave that is in all of us. Now we have to go out a share it, and participate in it. It starts with you, and it starts now.
